“All our DREAM can come true,
if we have the COURAGE to pursue them.” – Walt Disney

Indian Classical Music is one of the richest traditions of Vedic Parampara and now it unfurls throughout the globe. It is very closely connected to nature, ritual, tradition taking inspiration from nature, society and family life.

It is the core music of the Indian Subcontinent and has two major traditions: the North Indian Classical Music tradition is called Hindustani, while the South Indian expression is called Carnatic. The roots of the Indian Classical Music are found the Vedic Literature Hinduism and the ancient Natyashastra.

Indian Classical Music has two foundational elements: raag and taal. The Raag, based on swars, forms the fabric of a melodic structure, while the Taal measures the time cycle. The raag gives an artist a palette to build the melody from sounds, while the taal provides them with a creative framework for rhythmic improvisation using time. The versatilities of Indian Classical Music drizzle through Saptak, Alankar, Aaroh & Avroh, Thaat, Raag, Sargamgeet, Lakshangeet, Chota Khayal (Bandish), Aalap, Tana, Taal, Tarana, Dhrupad, Sthayi, Antara…

Now a days, there are multiple approaches to learn Indian Classical Music- heavily documented, notated and mechanized method. But learning through observation, listening, memorizing and following is an integral part of traditional ‘Guru-Shishya Parampara’.
