Living my dream through Music I’m Archana Hosangadi, 49 years of age and hail from Bengaluru, India. I was always a music lover and as a child I wanted to learn Hindustani classical music but my mother, being the sole breadwinner of our family (my father expired when I was 5) with so many mouths to feed, could not afford classes for me to pursue my singing hobby. When I grew up and started earning, I got busy looking after my family and there was no time between running to work and running back home to handle the domestic chores. My singing hobby fell in the background and I began to believe it’s too late to learn. Last year, I was diagnosed with 2nd stage cancer and as life slowed down through my treatments , it suddenly dawned on me how short life is and how I had not done all those things that I wanted to with music topping my bucket list. So, my husband and son joined me in looking out for music classes, helping me believe that music knows no age, but with the onset of COVID, and my immunity at its lowest it seemed impossible. My husband looked for online classes and zeroed down on “Music & U” and I contacted Ms. Sushama Saha, the next thing I knew I was on board the online classes and singing away to my heart’s content. It felt like the best thing ever. My music teacher is wonderful. She gives personal training and makes the class fun and relaxing. And I am indeed so lucky to have found her. I so wait for those two hours of class during the week which make me feel so complete. Thank you so much Sushama and “Music & U”; You have helped me live my dream.– Archana Hosangadi, Bengaluru, India.
